How to Get Away With It: Proposals, Permits and Implementation

Discover everything necessary to transform a placemaking project into reality. Join Laura Phillips Edgecombe in a comprehensive workshop where she will expertly guide you through navigating city requirements for permitting, managing public spaces, and addressing potential challenges. Afterward, gain insights from expert event planners Haley Tinkle and Yaya Cardona on crafting compelling proposals that capture attention, and learn the fundamentals of event planning and venue management.

Hour 1: Implementation strategies: public space permitting, regulatory considerations, and collaboration with local government and stakeholders

Hour 2: Event Planning: from site scouting to save the date, you will learn how to start sending invitations and manage logistics for community events

Hour 3: Budgeting, Sponsorships and Proposal writing: essentially you will learn how to get your placemaking project on paper and fund it

Hour 4: Group discussion and reflection on session content; planning for hands-on project in Session 4.
