Downtown Achievement Award: Dawn Lockhart, City of Jacksonville

2022 #DTJax Awards Winners
 Downtown Vision (DVI), Downtown Jacksonville’s non-profit Business Improvement District (BID) announced yesterday the eighth annual #DTJax Award Winners. The #DTJax Awards recognize community leaders, organizations, businesses and entrepreneurs who in 2022 worked to create a vibrant and dynamic 24-hour, pedestrian friendly Downtown. Award winners are not only excellent advocates for Downtown, but have also shown their dedication by supporting economic revitalization efforts, creating jobs, operating beloved amenities, and maintaining a clean and safe #DTJax.

Downtown Achievement Award: Dawn Lockhart, City of Jacksonville

Dawn Lockhart serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships for the City of JacksonvilleAppointed by Mayor Curry in 2016, Lockhart leads the development of a shared civic agenda for the private, public and philanthropic sectors to help result in better outcomes for all citizens. Since being appointed, she has launched the first land trust in the city, Jacksonville Community Land Trust, which advances affordable housing opportunities. She has also played a key role leading the Mayor’s Downtown Homeless Task Force, with successful implementation of the Urban Rest Stop, Mobile Medical and Social Services, Pathway to Home and has helped to steadily reduce unsheltered homelessness since 2016. Before being appointed Lockhart served Family Foundations for more than 30 years in a multitude of roles. Her professional affiliations include the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Board of Directors, City of Jacksonville’s Economic Development Committee, JAX Chamber Board of Governors, National Foundation for Credit Counseling Board of Trustees, United Way and the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida.  

This award recognizes an individual or organization for a significant body of work that reinforces Downtown as the premier center for arts, dining, retail, entertainment, business and urban living in Northeast Florida.

Winners were celebrated on November 29, 2022 at The Lark in Downtown Jacksonville.
