Downtown Project of the Year: Fuller Warren Bridge Shared Use Path (SUP)

Downtown Vision Inc. (DVI), Downtown Jacksonville’s Business Improvement District (BID), announced their ninth annual #DTJax Award Winners. The #DTJax Awards honor and celebrate the community leaders, businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs, and projects that contribute to the transformation and vibrancy of Downtown Jacksonville. The #DTJax Award winners consistently demonstrate their commitment creating and supporting a safe, clean and dynamic Downtown Jacksonville.

Downtown Project of the Year: Fuller Warren Bridge Shared Use Path (SUP)

The Fuller Warren Bridge Shared Use Path (SUP) was created with the Jacksonville community in mind to offer pedestrians and cyclists safe passage across the St. Johns River. This less-than-a-mile path features two six-foot lanes, providing a comfortable and protected route for individuals to traverse the river without the intrusion of interstate traffic. Linking some of Jacksonville’s most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods—the Northbank’s Brooklyn/Riverside area to the Southbank and San Marco—the SUP serves as a vital connection. It’s a favored spot for locals and visitors alike, frequently visited for both exercise and leisurely strolls. The path offers many opportunities to spot dolphins or catch breathtaking sunsets. Saturdays are particularly lively, drawing crowds as part of the Riverside Arts Market outing, making it a vibrant and enjoyable destination for all.

This award recognizes a project that has significantly enhanced the economic revitalization of Downtown through the activation of underutilized buildings, job creation or leading design practices.

Winners were celebrated November 30th, 2023 at The Lark Downtown Jacksonville. The 2023 #DTJax Awards were made possible by VyStar Credit Union, First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, JEA Visit Jacksonville, Steve & Betsy Crosby, The Lark, Sight & Sound Productions, and 360 Photo Booth.
