National Photo Month: #DTJax Showcases Some Favorite Spots

By Tenley Ross, DVI Intern

Skylines, sunsets and scenery always capture our attention, especially when sharing you the beauty of Downtown. May is National Photo Month, and we’re bringing you some of our Instagram favorites from the past year. Through the creative Instagram eyes of both our @DTJax team and #DTJax fans, we selected a few shots that really shine. We hope each moment caught on camera inspires you to take a look around Downtown and share what artistry and beauty you can find, too!

Thanks to @datoz for this breathtaking photo. We love the lighting!

From our April Downtown Art Walk, we loved seeing all your beautiful faces out and about Downtown. Photo by @DTJax.

In April we couldn’t resist taking a cool photo of these skaters during One Spark! Photo by @DTJax.

Thanks, @updoguru, for such a illuminating perspective of the Southbank Riverwalk!

We love this view of the SunTrust Tower by #DTJax fan @khalilgraphy.

It’s great to add a little mystery to a photo. When we took this one back in January, the overwhelming fog intrigued us to highlight its look enveloping the skyline. Photo by @DTJax.

Thanks, @mwaters18, for such a heartwarming photo by Friendship Fountain!

It’s not Throwback Thursday, but we still can’t get enough of the skyline view through these glasses taken nearly a year ago, June 2014, by @mokno.

When we took this photo in July 2014, we just had to capture the awe and pride Jacksonville felt watching the new scoreboards’ unveiling. Photo by @DTJax.

We love this photo of Treaty Oak from @dweezy904. Picnic soon, anyone?

The light’s warmth reflects off of the Duval County Courthouse, making it look even more magnificent. Photo by @DTJax.

What a great perspective from @mosesedge in Hemming Park with a Bold City pop in hand!

You can’t beat a view like the one we took from Everbank Field in August 2014. Photo by @DTJax.

National Photo Month is more than just a few days to celebrate captured moments – it’s a chance to explore and express the beauty your surroundings have to offer. Downtown has so much to explore on foot and through the lens – join us Downtown to see what you discover!
