MOCA Movie Night – Minari

About

Join MOCA Jacksonville during Third Wednesday Museum Nights for an evening of inspiring film as we present monthly screenings connected to the themes and ideas of our exhibitions and current events.

A tender and sweeping story about what roots us, Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.

Minari is presented in connection to the exhibition Contemporary Cartogprahies, which is on view at MOCA Jacksonville through November 26. Contemporary Cartographies includes works from MOCA Jacksonville’s permanent collection, complemented by loans from local and national artists, charting their surrounding landscape both literally and figuratively; whether it be through tracing a familiar route, capturing the movement of a bustling city, or portraying the people and features of the milieu that defines them.

Free with admission | Register and pay for admission in advance to secure your seat at Movie Night | Not Rated | Geared to an adult audience, but open to all ages.
