Studio Practice: Monotype Gel Prints with Hannah Glaser

About

Learn how to create monotype prints using gel plates with local artist Hannah Glaser in MOCA’s Studios.

Students will use gel printing plates to learn monotype processes of patterning, gradients, stenciling, layering, and ghost prints. They will be able to make a variety of prints accessible to all skill level using rolling water-based relief inks on plates and transferring them by hand rubbing.

Studio Practice is a monthly series of hands-on, practical art classes where students of all levels learn to create in varying media with the instruction of a local artist.

MOCA Members $5 | Non-Members $15

ABOUT HANNAH GLASER

Hannah Glaser’s work is defined by her experiences as a queer disabled artist, as well as her passion for horror. She is a graduate of the University of North Florida (UNF) and works in both the visual and written arts. She’s had written works featured in The Talon Review and Honey Literary, and visual works displayed in MOCA Jacksonville, UNF’s Lufrano Gallery, and the ARTSee and Shop, where she also collaborated in curating the space. Glaser uses her art as a vehicle to reach an audience’s empathy and engage with them on the feminist issues prominent in her work.
