Starting June 27, 2025, residents were able to enjoy and support local food trucks in the heart of Downtown every last Friday of the month. The Liberty Street Food Truck Court was a resident-led transformation site, turning a vacant concrete pad along the Riverwalk into a lively new gathering space.
Neighbors from The Plaza Marina reimagined this underused stretch of the Northbank Riverwalk with landscaping, seating, lighting, and regular food truck events that activated the waterfront and brought fresh dining options to Downtown every Fourth Friday.
The Liberty Street Food Truck Court Transformation was part of the PlacemakingJax 2025 Portfolio Year, presented by VyStar Credit Union — a community-driven initiative transforming Downtown Jacksonville into a vibrant, welcoming place to gather, explore, and connect.
