August 6th’s First Wednesday Art Walk Programming

  • James Weldon Johnson Park: Shop with vendors in the park and celebrate Hip Hop’s birthday with musical performances by Groove Coalition on the main stage, and a set by DJ Teezy and a dance cypher by In The Midst on Laura Street. Let the kiddos run around the Kids Zone and grab some dinner from food trucks:
     
  • The Art Center Cooperative: Join the Art Center CoOp indoors for a night full of art at August Art Walk — from a paint party with Abby Howard Murphy at the Visit Jax Welcome Center to artist receptions at the Main Library. Enjoy food, drinks,
    games, prizes, and more — all free, family friendly, and rain or shine starting at 5:30 tonight, August 6th!
  • Bay Street Bar & Grill: Join Flo Funny’s Comedy Open Mic for laughs and a beer.

  • Bellwether: Enjoy the sounds of the Heitmeister Jazz band on the sidewalk. Don’t miss an exclusive collab menu between Hardpressed Burgers and Bellwether on the night of Art Walk.

  • Bold City Brewery: live music by Michael Meyers on the sidewalk from 6-9 p.m.

     

  • Chamblin’s Uptown: Shop for your next read inside and with various vendors on Laura Street.

     

  • Downtown Vision: Celebrate local creativity at Pink Palette, a 2D group show featuring 20 Jacksonville artists, on view during Art Walk night, August 6th from 6-8 p.m. at 29 W. Duval Street.

     

  • Hardwick’s Bar: Enjoy cocktails, DJs and performances. Sketch a live model and enjoy a drink. Then, join the Hardwicks100 Run Club for a weekly Wednesday walk or run, and end the night strolling Art Walk!

     

  • Hemming Jewelers: Shop jewelry inside.

     

  • Indulgence Bistro: Lyricist Live returns to Art Walk with Mal Jones. This month’s programming highlights the neighborhood’s rich cultural roots by celebrating the LaVilla Renaissance and the historic Black-owned businesses that once thrived nearby. Enjoy Indulgence Southern Bistro’s free wine from 5 to 7 p.m. while live bands and DJs set the vibe along the streets. Stick around for Art Walk After Dark, featuring a small business mixer from 9 to 11 p.m.
  • Jacksonville Children’s Chorus: Stop by for the Latin dance party with Malémbe Dance Company from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
  • Jacksonville Main Public Library: Art Walk Art Tours – Docent-led tour every 30 minutes (6, 6:30,7, 7:30, 8 p.m.) and drop-in Zinester Meetup – Read, Trade and Make Zines! Plus, find kids’ coloring sheets and games inside.

  • MOCA Jacksonville: Free admission. Walk in for an art activity, a MOCA Movie Night and vendors from 5-9 p.m. Join the Jax Contemporary Artist Talk at 7 p.m. Grab coffee and treats at Setlan Coffee inside!

     

  • Myth Element: Midweek Mixology at Element Bistro

     

  • Ocean Street Tacos & Tequila: Grab dinner and drinks and enjoy the weekly Open Decks event by “Wax & Whiskey Jax” at 9 p.m.

     

  • Ruby Beach Brewing: Hit the Art Walk Afterparty with Silent Disco by Hushhushjax. Shop Thrift Nic, the open-air market before silent disco begins.

     

  • Southlight Gallery: Jim Draper joins the gallery for a few months, and David Nackashi showcases for August.

     

  • Visit Jacksonville: Browse vendors inside, live music outside and shop paintings by local artists.

     

  • The Volstead: DJ Brooks and craft cocktails.

     

  • 41 E. Duval Street: Stop into the new PlacemakingJax art pop-up building to shop with Konbini Labo and KollectJax; learn about the history of the building with Paulus Music Co. explore immersive galleries throughout by The Petite Jax and explore Hush Hush Jax’s Secret Space of music and performance.
