In late 2022, Riverside residents Rafael and Carmen Godwin purchased this property from neighbor and friend Ron Chamblin They propose to restore the property in the same way contemplated by Chamblin – retail or food service on the ground floor with residential on the top two.
Originally built in 1904 as two stories, the wood structure was restored and lifted to become 3 floors with a brick facade. The couple received conceptual approval by DDRB in December 2022 and are working through the process of getting it designated a Historic Landmark, which will also lead to funding assistance by the DIA DPRP program.
“We are excited to make a difference in our downtown by revitalizing and activating a historic building so close to our city center.”
