A restaurant serving up fresh seafood and soul food favorites is slated to open in downtown Jacksonville.

Celestia Mobley and her daughter Jasmine Mobley are opening Alijay’s Kitchen and Catering in November 2026 at 20 W. Adams St., over two years after Jumpin’ Jax House of Food closed in the same space.

The name for the restaurant is a combination of the names of Celeste Mobley’s granddaughter Aliyah and daughter Jasmine. When she and Jasmine toured the space, Mobley said they “immediately fell in love” with it.
