A new sushi destination is poised to join the One Riverside development, Jacksonville’s long-awaited mixed-use business district.
Pearl Hospitality Group — the same group that operates the celebrated Norikase Japanese seafood restaurant near the St. Johns Town Center — has signed a lease to bring its newest concept to Jacksonville’s waterfront: Norikawa, Colliers Senior Associate Olivia Steinemann confirmed to the Business Journal Thursday.
The restaurant will reside in a 4,149-square-foot space along the Riverwalk and feature a 2,500-square-foot patio, Steinemann wrote in a social media post.
“Norikawa will serve authentic Japanese cuisine, blending traditional flavors with modern techniques,” per Steinemann. “The menu will feature high-quality sushi, meticulously crafted with attention to detail, alongside a curated selection of cocktails crafted with unique ingredients, premium sake, and Japanese whisky.”
The Pearl Hospitality Group is part of the Bento Group, which operates nearly 50 restaurants in Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando, several of which have received Michelin awards. Steinemann, Matthew Clark and Sam Middlekauff were the brokers with Colliers on the deal.
Three projects make up the 18.84-acre site named One Riverside. TriBridge Residential will develop the 271 residential units with a restaurant, Fuqua Development of Atlanta will develop a retail center anchored by a Whole Foods Market, and the city will uncover McCoys Creek and develop a park that connects to the Emerald Trail.
