In June 2024, the City of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Jaguars reached an agreement on a groundbreaking deal for a new stadium. The Stadium of the Future is a $1.4 billion renovation of EverBank Stadium into a state-of-the-art facility that serves as a hub for sports, entertainment, and community engagement. Plans call for a modern design inclusive of a protective canopy, wider concourses, new communal spaces, scenic lookout decks, new seating types, special event capacity, immersive in-bowl tech, and a nature park. The project will keep the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville for at least 30 years.
A significant component of the project is the Community Benefits Agreement, which outlines investments aimed at uplifting the surrounding communities and ensuring long-term benefits for Jacksonville residents. Both the City of Jacksonville and the Jaguars have pledged $150 million each, totaling $300 million, dedicated to community initiatives such as improvements to parks, affordable housing, workforce development and homelessness initiatives throughout the city.
The renovation commenced in early 2025, with an expected completion by the 2028 NFL season.
