The State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida is responsible for the prosecution of all crimes committed in Clay, Duval, and Nassau counties. One of 20 judicial circuits in the state of Florida, the SAO4 has offices in all three of the Fourth Circuit counties.

Meet the State Attorney:
Melissa Nelson took office as the State Attorney for Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit in January 2017 and was re-elected in 2021 without opposition. In the role, she leads more than 300 attorneys, staff, and investigators in their pursuit of justice. Since taking office, she has implemented policies to strengthen public safety and incapacitate dangerous individuals while establishing needed smart justice reforms and initiatives that have saved taxpayers, increased transparency, and kept the community protected.
