A culinary documentary series hosted beneath the historic canopy of Treaty Oak Park. Spearheaded by Chef Onyx, this two-part barbecue brunch highlights what the space once was and what it has become, while serving as a platform to elevate neighborhood culinary talents into Jacksonville’s vibrant mainstream food culture. From Jacksonville’s cattle farming legacy and Dixie Land Amusement Park, to the preservation of Jacksonville’s 250+ year-old tree, the history of Jacksonville will be told through a community panel, art exhibits, and a spirit dance performance by JAMS, all interwoven with the communal dining experience. Education on SNAP resources and local produce will also be provided, along with recipes for guests to take away and incorporate into their own cooking, capitalizing on the learning opportunities offered at this event.
