TRIBUTE TO BLACK MUSIC: I LOVE MUSIC debuts on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at the Conference Center Hicks Auditorium in the Main Library, 303 Laura Street in Downtown Jacksonville. It promises to be a spectacular show featuring the best and highest quality local talent, who have exceptional experience with national recording and performing celebrities.

Proving that “Duval’s Got Talent”, TRIBUTE TO BLACK MUSIC: I LOVE MUSIC stars Alphonso Horne, Jr., Trumpeter, a graduate of both LaVilla & Douglas Anderson Schools of the Arts. He is a Juilliard Graduate and Multi-GRAMMY Award nominee. Alphonso Horne is described by New York Times as a “devastating trumpeter” that thrills audiences with his soulful sound and dramatic sensibility. Horne’s Featured Guest Artist is Allana Southerland Prince, Saxophonist, also a graduate of Douglas Anderson and the University of North Florida. We are asking for your support as an Inaugural Sponsor or Major Advertiser in the TRIBUTE Souvenir Program. We need your commitment to welcome these talented musicians back home to perform. This TRIBUTE will feature Jacksonville’s professional musicians and alumni of past TRIBUTES TO BLACK MUSIC. Reviving this popular local production will continue the tradition of providing exposure to aspiring young entertainers and seasoned veterans on stage. Alphonso Jr. also appeared in the 1999 TRIBUTE show. TRIBUTE is presented by W. Harvey Williams, owner of ENTER-TECH Communications (ETC), who produces, directs, coordinates and markets live musical stage productions. He produces shows under the ETC and “because…WE LOVE YOU” logos.

TRIBUTE TO BLACK MUSIC returning veteran musicians include ALPHONSO “BUBBA” HORNE, SR., (Star Performer, Alphonso, Jr.’s, father) Musical Director, on trumpet, keyboards and vocals with over 40 years of musical experience. Alphonso serves as Music Director/Coordinator for most ETC musical productions. He is the”Godfather” of many aspiring and veteran musicians in Northeast Florida. Bubba will also lead the house band, called Senior Moments Last Stand Band, offering a twist of calypso, R & B, jazz and reggae with veteran entertainers, featuring Island Mood band members and TRIBUTE performers: Dusty Barber, guitarist and Stevie Fingers Saracson, keys. Stage Aurora Theatrical Company will open the show with the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” performed by Stage Aurora’s 100 Youth Voices. Darryl Reuben Hall is the owner and CEO of Stage Aurora. We are honoring exceptional Jacksonville talent, such as Lawrence Walden, Vocalist, Sculptor and Musician, and the late renowned Teddy Washington, Orchestra Leader Extraordinaire and Trumpeter for the late Mr. James Brown.
