Let’s make the NextStep possible for individuals experiencing homelessness in DTJax!
This holiday season, we invite you to support the Downtown Ambassador NextStep Program, which provides meaningful employment to individuals experiencing homelessness. From November 25th to December 31st, your online donations to NextStep will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund. Contribute $50 or more for a chance to win a $500 #DTJax e-Gift Card.
Through NextStep, individuals experiencing homelessness are hired to work with the Downtown Ambassador team and are empowered through job training and experience that enhances the cleanliness, safety and hospitality of Downtown Jacksonville. Throughout the program, participants receive shelter, transportation and life-skills guidance from City Rescue Mission.
NextStep is a collaboration between City Rescue Mission and Downtown Vision, the nonprofit Improvement District for Downtown Jacksonville, with support from the City of Jacksonville. Funded by Downtown Vision, Downtown Ambassadors work seven days a week providing cleaning, safety, hospitality, and social services outreach to support the maintenance and enhancement of Downtown Jacksonville.
