With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we’ve put together a guide for all you last minute planners. We’ve compiled a list full of outdoor activities, delicious food recommendations, and unique spots to visit with mom. We know that mom deserves a day full of fun and excitement and there’s no better place to feel the fun than in #DTJax!
For those of you looking to get a jumpstart on quality time with mom, Ruby Beach Brewery is offering a Flower Pressing Workshop on May 3rd from 4pm to 6pm where you and mom can create a beautiful pressed flower frame! The first drink is on the house and you’ll be sure to bring home a treasured memory along with your frame.
Does mom love the outdoors? Get your Mother’s Day morning started with a stroll along the Riverwalk. Take a leisurely walk with mom alongside the Northbank or Southbank paths and take in the sights and sunrise by the river. This is sure to be a relaxing way to kick off an eventful day. Now that you’ve worked up an appetite after your walk, wander over to Chamblin’s Uptown , where you can grab brunch and a new book! Meander around their extensive collection to find your next great read, with coffee and a croissant in hand!
Gaze upon some of Jacksonville’s art with a stop at MOCA , #DTJax’s own unique collection of contemporary art. Take this excursion to see what stunning and thought provoking works the museum has to offer. Trying to pick a favorite piece will be the only challenge you’ll face all day!
No Mother’s Day is complete without a little sugar from her favorite sweetheart! Stop by Sweet Pete’s for a colorful and scrumptious addition to your day. Pick up some gourmet candy or a scoop (or two!) from the ice cream bar at Fizzies’ & Fare. There’s something to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.
As the day comes to a close, make mom’s night complete with dinner at the Chart House. Overlook the city’s gorgeous riverfront while enjoying some of the most delicious seafood and steak that Jacksonville has to offer. It is sure to be a scrumptious end to a delightful day!
