If you’re looking for the best spots to enjoy fireworks and fun this Fourth of July, Downtown Jacksonville is the place to be! Though the fireworks are the headliner of the night, there’s plenty to enjoy before you get settled in to watch the show. Here’s how you can make the most of your holiday right here in the heart of the city.
Firework Viewing Areas
We’ll start with the star of the show, the fireworks! The show will begin at 9 p.m. along the Northbank and Southbank of the St. John’s River, so we recommend getting to your viewing spot early to beat the crowds. Some spots to take in the show include the Friendship Fountain — or aboard a St. John’s River Taxi. Book their special Fourth of July cruise here.

Sweets and snacks are a necessity to have on standby while enjoying the show, and there’s no better spot to get them than at Downtown’s very own Sweet Pete’s. From lollipops, to cotton candy, to chocolate–covered bacon, there’s a treat to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Looking for something cold? Grab a scoop at Fizzes and Fare, Sweet Pete’s in-house ice cream bar and restaurant.
